It is no secret that I coupon. I shop at several stores in search of a good deal. Today I went into Family Dollar #9090 located at 3909 Fry Rd. Katy, TX 77449 and encountered an extremely rude manager who refused to take my coupons and refuse to explain why she wouldnt let me use them. I went in to purchase Downy dryer sheets. When I got to the counter I had 12 boxes each $2.15 and a dress for $7.50. The cashier rang up my purchase and gave me my total was $3X.XX. I then handed the cashier 4 $5/3 P&G. Immediately her countenance changed and she spoke to another employee in Spanish. Usually this doesnt bother me. However, I feel it is unprofessional to do so when dealing with a customer who does not speak that language. She came over and looked at the coupons then the merchandise and told me I couldnt use them. She then snatched the bag off the counter and put it on the floor. I asked her why I couldnt use them and she pointed to the pictures on the coupon and said its not there. I said they are not in the exclusions and then asked her to try the coupon to see if it would scan. I was told she will not do things I want her to do. I asked for my bag and for the manager. Imagine my disbelief when I found out that I was already talking to the manager. I then asked for her to explain to me why that coupon couldnt be used; and she said she was done with me, and walked away. I asked her not to ignore me because it was rude and as a manager she should be able to express herself professionally to her customers. I then asked where was the store coupon policy. She stated its over there somewhere and waived me away dismissively. I asked for her name and for her to contact her district or regional manager. Igna Davis is her name and I was told there was no need to call anyone because she knows what she is doing. I was then given 713-691-0520. I called while in the store it is the regional office number. There was no answer then a recording to leave a message and my call will be returned in 24 hrs and if your need is urgent to please call the corporate office at 1-800-547-0359. I left a message and then called 1-800-547-0359 and via recording was told they are closed. I look forward to hearing from the regional and corporate offices in regards to this incident.
