It is not everyday that I write about these things. But this is something that needs to be addressed among my friends and the general people nonetheless. As any of you probably heard by now, that the virus called Ebola has reached our country. As a citizen of Bangladesh I found it my duty to try my best to set this news to you.The epidemic has claimed more than 4000 lives across the world and has a 50% to 90% rate of fatality if not treated. It is a very deadly virus which is highly contagious via bodily fluids.Such as sweat, saliva, etc. Originated in West Africa. The first patient to be diagnosed with the virus in Bangladesh is of Barisal if Im not mistaken. My point being,Ebola is just another virus. It is in fact a very concerning case no argument that needs certain attention. But it hopefully can and will be controlled, possibly cured. But our country has a knack of playing host to many viruses which originated in foreign lands yet still thriving in Bangladesh evolving and mutating for years now.As The Nipa Virus for example.Coming back to Ebola.Even if a cure is found at the fastest being say-tomorrow.Most likely Bangladesh would suffer from a delayed supply of it,as with all developing countries. The patients with the virus can be treated and sometimes completely cured of it if proper medical care is taken in the early stages of the virus.Symptoms include body rashes, fever, aching joints & muscles, diarrhoea with blood and bleeding from eyes, nostrils, etc. Please be aware.Stay away from reported locations with the outbreak. The important thing here is to be in knowledge and take as maximum protection from any infection as our normal busy lives would allow us.It is just another virus for us to fight and control. But if not done so properly,if we are ignorant about this deadly virus and fail to contain it.Ebola might as well be the end of our nation as we know it. No Pressure.
