It is not uncommon for a man expecting his first child to have a picture in his mind of parenting moments that will take place during the toddler/preschool years (teaching to ride a bike, play catch, etc.). From the moment the child is born, however, a father begins instead to hope that those moments do not come too soon. But they inevitably do. Happy 3rd Birthday to my wonderful son Lucas. I hope you enjoy your new baseball glove and bike, and I hope I can somehow begin to cope with how incredibly fast you are growing up.
