It is obvious that peoples emotions are extremely high at the movement because of the situation in South Sudan. However, we should express our feelings, but it is also necessary to think about long term solutions/strategies on how to prevent this history from repeating itself. Therefore, I appeal to the youths from Athooc, Gok, Twi, and Duk to ask themselves the following questions: What are the future security arrangements for civilians in these areas after the war? How are those who survived this tragedy going to return home without police or well armed personnel in Payams or Bomas? Is it possible for the people of Bor County to host everyone again in Bor town given this level of mistrust among civilians? Are civilians near Division 8 in Malual-chat and Panpandiar safe? My opinion is that our people havent learned any thing yet because it is now a culture that Murle criminals regularly kill people, raid cattle, and kidnapped women & children, and then we cry for government intervention! Nuer people often live peaceful with us however when politicians disagree in their respective positions in Juba, our civilians pay the price! We are always the first to be disarmed and still we are unconscious about our survival in this hostile environment. The unity of aforementioned communities is in question because we are divided by certain politicians interest. Whatever Kuol, Makuei, Nyandeng, Majak, etc. says in their capacity as politicians is often localise as if it is his/ her clans voice! Majority of us lack constructive criticism because we often generalise individual failures in the government as community wrongdoing. Is it a crime to criticise a politician instead of being call a hater by his/her relatives? How long are we going to be bystanders instead of taking our security into our own hands? Well, failure to critique these issues and offer solutions will result in another POGROM! We monyjang we be thok eterek. Akut Kuei.
