It is that time of the year. Its getting just a bit colder here in the decadent old North East. So loads of people from Florida, California, and other nearly season free areas feel the need to pretend it is so glorious to avoid anything like the adversity of the approximately 5 days where snow is even the least bit of a hindrance. 1. I am (rather obviously) from Northern European stock, I am genetically predispose to liking places with, well, more than 2 seasons. 2. I hate hot weather. World wide, more people are killed each year by heat than cold, and when it gets too hot, I get the urge to attack children and the elderly with a claw hammer. 3. Do I really need to state how pathetically wimpy it sounds when someone says they can not handle even a tiny bit of snow? Really, Do I? There is more, but Im lazy. Suffice it to say, the oneupmanship one attempts to achieve by saying Yes, I may live in a virtual cultural wasteland but at least its warm!, is quite lost on me.
