It is too much. I am not strong enough. The hill is too tall. - TopicsExpress

It is too much. I am not strong enough. The hill is too tall. The obstacle is too great. On and on we go, letting fear dictate our attitude about things. Of course, this is not true of every one of us, for I have known some great warriors of the faith who believed that nothing was impossible with God, and therefore nothing was impossible for them. All of our lives we have quoted verses like Philippians 4:13, saying that I can do all things . . . Yet, so many times, when we are challenged with what seems an insurmountable obstacle, we respond with It cant be done. One can imagine how Jeremiah felt that sentiment, especially when God had given him the prophecy concerning Israel. It was a prophecy of defeat, of captivity, of humiliation. Naturally, the prophet of God was perplexed by such a prophecy, because he knew that Gods manner was to give Israel the victory. But Israel had sinned, and God had promised that there would be a terrible punishment for the nation because of that sin. It would be harsh, prolonged, and memorable. Perhaps some of us feel that we have been in just the same situation lately. Thankfully, the Lord gave Israel another word through the prophet. Jeremiah 32:27 says, Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me? At this verse, God began to retell the prophecy that Israel was going to be handed over to the enemy, but at the end of this section He promises ultimate deliverance. This is the word that we need to hear and by which we need to live. Is there any thing too hard for [God]? We know better! Our faith may be shaken, and our steadfastness may not show it, but in our hearts we know that there is nothing that is impossible with God. There is no challenge that is impossible, no emotion that cannot be conquered, no obstacle that cannot be overcome. God, who is the God of all flesh, is in absolute control of all things. It may not seem so at this very moment, because we can only see the things that are right in front of us or around us, but God is in control and is working things together for good to those that love Him. I heard someone say, many years ago, that when fear sees an obstacle, faith sees an opportunity. This is true only if we believe the Word of God, that nothing is too hard for our God. So we have a choice: we can sit back and survey the obstacle, and by sheer mathematics or logic determine that it cant be done. Or, we can look through the spectacles of faith and see the mighty hand of God working. We can acknowledge, that although we may be under His disciplinary hand at the moment, yet our God is a God of mercy and will restore. We can choose, by faith, to believe that the pain of yesterday and today will eventually be healed and all made well. May God impress upon your heart and mine the priceless truth of this passage today!
