It is unusual for an Eastern Orthodox Christian to have such praise for the Patriarch of Rome and I do not claim to speak for other Orthodox Christians, only myself. I love this Pope. His message is Christs message. This man lives what he preaches. A few months ago I removed myself from an Eastern Orthodox FB group because they called Roman Catholics heretics. That to me is simply wrong. It is also the sin of pride. I challenge any Orthodox Christian to listen to this brief homily and try to defend the accusation of heretic. Pope Francis speaks and lives by example what all Christians are called to do by God Himself. There are still serious issues dividing the two Churches that have kept us apart for almost 1,000 years. But, when I listen to this man, I feel there is hope that in my lifetime I will see the reunification of the Eastern Orthodox an Roman Catholic Churches. I pray that our own Orthodox Patriarchs will be as visible as this Roman Patriarch. Viva il Papa!!
