It is very saddening and disheartening for us to still be receiving emails like this. We work very hard to put as much good and relevant information out there as possible along with providing examples of clients who have achieved success through more flexible, gradual and science based dieting principles. At some point you need to take a step back and reflect on if the long-term negative health effects are really worth it to go through a contest prep in this manner: Hey, I was wondering if you are taking clients for the fall season. I have competed 3 times and not once have I brought the physique I wanted to the stage. I had an awful prep experience the very first time I competed. My coach started me with 1300 calories in October 2012 and by February 2013 my calories were cut to 500 calories a day which consisted of a 6oz chicken breast and 10 cups of broccoli and cauliflower daily with 7 days a week weight training along with an hour or more of cardio. And my show wasnt until April! Although I have eaten more with the other two preps, I have no idea what is too much and what is not enough. I track my macros strictly and label all my meals with the macros on them. I am disciplined but I am tired of contest prep taking over my life. Every year I go back stage and your clients are happy and they do not look like theyre dying of cancer and they are allowed a life outside of competing and I want that. Im not sure how much longer I can continue prepping the way I do. I hope you can help me!
