It is with great sadness that we share the news that Mrs. Sue Reidy passed away last night. We will be gathering again today at 10 a.m. for Mass to celebrate the life of Mrs. Reidy. You are welcome to join our school community for Mass. Mrs. Reidy will be remembered as a highly effective teacher but also for her love of her students and colleagues. She was a positive and caring teacher and department chair who valued her individual connection with students and staff and loved teaching so much that she saw it as a privilege and a vocation, not just a job. Beyond the classroom Mrs. Reidy was a person of faith and was a regular participant on student retreats, served on DSHA’s Mission and Identity committee, and regularly attended Faith Friday Masses. She is also known for her love of travel and chaperoned many student trips across the country and, closer to home, led the biking club on trips throughout the city of Milwaukee. Mrs. Reidy is survived by her husband John, her daughters Jenny, ’00 and Margaret, ’08 and sons Casey and Chris. Funeral arrangements are pending and will be communicated when finalized. Christ King parish (92nd & Center) will be open this evening from 5 – 6:30 p.m. for informal quiet prayer and reflection. This time is open for all Christ King parishioners and visitors. The DSHA community is welcome to gather there this evening to pray for Mrs. Reidy and her family but there will not be a formal service. Christ King parish also has Rosary at 6:30 and students and families are welcome to stay for Rosary as well. Thank you for your prayers and compassionate understanding. Please keep the Reidy family and the DSHA community in your prayers.
