It must be exciting because they were given a chance to visit other countries, have a glimpse outside their comfort zone and earn much money to support their family . On the other hand, high risking and gambling of their savings (paid to the employment agencies), life (abusive employers) and future were anticipated. Sadness, homesickness, emotional stress, malnutrition, lack of sleep and rest, culture adjustment were needed to overcome otherwise you will go home defeated and buried in debt. Yet, there are few things that make the OFW�s happy, motivated and strive to continue the cause they have started. Some of these things were mostly applied to OFW whose job is domestic helper. PAY DAY � Bravo! Your labor is not in vain. This is the victorious day for OFW�s. It means their hard works are being paid. Time to send money back home, buy something for yourself and treat yourself in Joli bee. DAY OFF � Fun! Fun! Fun! � the most exciting day of the week. Some of them, were lucky if their day off fall into Sunday or Saturday. It means � more fun, more friends to meet and stress relieving. Go to the park, eat your native food, party, and above all �TIME TO GO TO CHURCH�. GOOD NEWS FROM FAMILY AND FRIENDS BACK HOME � I love you, I miss you, we are praying for you, hope you are in good health were just few messages that brightens the day of an OFW. It would be by phone call, text messages, facebooking, emails and more. Receiving those messages make them feel closer with their love ones. It gives them a �BIG SMILE� and get energized in doing their job. VACATION/LEAVE - Welcome Home! Obviously, going home after a long years of absence must be very exciting. Finally, the family reunited again. Big Party! SALARY INCREASE � I like this one. Of course, some are working over time as it supposed to be. If the employers demanded to finish your work even it already time to sleep and rest, the helpers are worth for salary increase as well. Some workers, were just lucky to have a �human employers�. I quoted human employers, in the sense that there are employers treated their workers as their own slave and they can demand anything they want even its not humane. Salary Increase will give a happy thought to the workers and encouraged them to work harder to give a better service. EMPLOYERS GONE FOR HOLIDAY/VACATION � Yes, I am alone in the house. That phrase outlined in the mind a domestic helper when their employer gone for holiday/vacation. Though, they have some task and 3 pages �to-do-list� left for them but it�s nothing. It is easy to work and accomplish everything without the employer around. ACCOMPLISHMENT/FRUIT OF LABOR � Congratulations. When you are working hard and later on you can see with your two eyes the fruit of your labor, all the hardship, tears, and pain in the past will be gone. Erased, erased! erased. Looking at the pictures of their children or brother/sister with diploma will give them a wet eyes. TEARS of JOY. Will give them a deep breath with new hope and happiness. Reconstruction of a 1 room house, repairing a water system, providing an electricity in the house were just few things to mentioned of the accomplishment of an OFW that will make him/her happy despite of the hardship he/she encountered while working abroad.
