It should be made clear that in order for this group to be truly effective, a logical, rational approach must be taken. While we all appreciate that there can be an emotional aspect regarding the well being of animals, it is important, in order to be taken seriously, that the emotional aspect be channeled towards the betterment and development of existing legislature and creating additional legislature where areas are lacking. This will provide the backbone or foundation for creating a better environment for animals in Bermuda. The main concern of this group should be to ensure that the laws concerning the care and protection of animals in Bermuda be up-to-date, comprehensive and effective in order to provide proper guidelines to prevent cruelty and/or be able to be used effectively to prosecute where necessary. Please feel free to make suggestions for amendments or areas that need to be addressed.
