It strikes me as bizarre in this country that no one questions school loans -- its excusable, even noble, to be tens of thousands in debt from a conventional academic education -- BUT... if you spend or lose even a small portion of that type of money on launching or trying out a business... or investing in mentoring, coaching, or training that is considered unconventional… most people experience embarrassment and shame. When I share this insight with clients who are scared to invest in themselves, or who are experiencing huge shame around losing some money in their business at some point, its a big relief. When they finally understand the hypocrisy of all this, they experience a huge a-ha, and realize the programming we receive from childhood on what we are supposed to do in life to be successful versus learning to think for ourselves and trying on new ideas, careers, and opportunities. Money is energy. It flows and comes and goes and comes back around again… so just keep stepping out. Stay on path. You are different. Think for yourself and live the life you really want to.
