It was 5:00 am on December 6th and one of our District III patrol officers saw a car stopped at a red light on Silver Hill Road. When the light turned green, the car didn’t go. The officer walked up to the car and saw that the driver was asleep at the wheel. The officer asked the driver to step out and come talk to him at the back of the car. The driver got out but refused to walk to the back of the car. That’s when the officer saw a bulge in the driver’s right front pocket. The driver then put his hand in that pocket. After the driver refused to follow several of the officer’s commands, our officer was able to safely take the suspect into custody. In that right front pocket – a loaded gun. Great police work.
