It was actually VERY weird going in and sitting through church today.......I say that because six years ago to this very date and day I walked through Vriesland Reformed Church for the very first time after being out of church since I was fourteen years old.....On this first visit not one person said hello to me, not even when the pastor asked everyone to greet those around you, still no one said hello...I will say it again NO ONE said hello.....But GOD gave me an overwhelming sense of peace, something I had never felt before, it was at that moment I knew everything was going to be alright.....And it was that feeling that got me through the worst four months of my life, plus I believe it was the ultimate thing that saved my life...... It was a long while before someone actually stepped out of their comfort zone and said hello to me.....So you see I say it was weird cause today six years later I received a heck of a lot of hellos and some hugs as well........ Though I loved them all, but it was, it is, and it will always be God that keeps me here at Vriesland, for HE is the one that choose the church for me, for us to reconnect.....Marking this date and day a very special day for me, for I will forever and always be grateful to God for changing my life completely, bringing me back to church, with a pastor that understood me and walked through my doubts and questions about faith, a church that is filled with wonderful people and arm fulls of children to love....Yes LORD, I am thankful for this special day!!!!
