It was great joy meeting cousins Jovitta chechi and Vinod chettan after 17 years. Since then, Facebook has helped us carry on our conversations. So there was very little catching up in the literal sense of the word. We continued talking on family, the countries we love, our work - occasionally punctuated by the sweet-naughty comments of their beautiful daughter, Niv. They are on a short trip to Bhutan from Kabul, their place of work. I have learned more about Afghanistan from them than all what I have read about the country. Like Bhutan is not all about perpetually-smiling people, Afghanistan is not just about war and oppression of women. Amid media and political stereotypes, we celebrate life, with all its beauty and ugliness, hope and hopelessness.
