It was just about seven years ago a nurse saved my life. Mom had been failing rapidly for weeks and hospice had installed a hospital bed in her living room, one she never left alive. I was sleeping nights, when I did sleep, on the floor in there on a chaise lounge cushion, caring for her. All this 15 feet from Moms bed and bedroom with the living room bugged with baby monitors... I was just too far gone to realize that. Hospice, which great as the people are is a business after all, would send somebody by occasionally to make sure I wasnt abusing Mom and check her condition. For some reason the regular nurse couldnt make it one morning and the lady sent to replace her showed a bit early. She found me, on the floor, just asleep I guess but so exhausted that I wouldnt wake. I came to with her sitting in a chair, watching over both of us. That day she went back to the hospice offices and raised hell that i was going to stroke out if I didnt get some help. I had asked the other nurse for help and was turned down but Bobbi made it stick threatening to raise hell publicly if anything happened to me. Thank you dear friend, you made thirty years of nurses that had not been such a great experience even. You saved my life. Barbara Burch Thank you.
