What do you see here? A gardener sees a mid-summer accomplishment. A cook sees eggplant parmesan. A gemstone dealer sees heat treated and unheated, or maybe weve just spent too much time trying to match pairs and photograph these vintage amethyst gemstones. These are old stones, cut between 30 and 60 years ago. The cutting is classic for that era: unevenly shaped, occasionally slightly lopsided, the polish is surprising good for that time. The color is a lively, lavender purple. The color looks old fashioned because these stones came from a time before gemstones were routinely heat treated. The overall effect is Vintage with a capital V.
