It was with great SADNESS that I watched today as our old growth Sycamore trees were cut down by PGE ...They were sneaky and cut the trees down before the judge could rule on their fate on Wednesday morning..I received a call at 3 am that they were there at the site at the Pioneer Cemetary on Feather River Blvd in Oroville...just 30 minutes after I had gone to bed from Coronation Weekend...I hope my friends would be proud of me...PGE pretended to leave the area waiting for all the folks from the rally to leave except a few...They came with big cranes and started cutting the trees until I climbed into the area and stopped the cutting...many followed and cutting was halted for hours....Police were called and some were arrested..NOT ME...The police here were wonderful....Something many of you have NEVER heard me say....The police Chief is saddened by their cutting but had to enforce an order they must have gotten in the wee hours....(I wonder which judge they paid off)....He understood all of our efforts and was very nice to all of us....Tomorrow morning the remaining NINE will probably be cut down..We will sleep there tonight all night and will try to stall them until the judge makes his/her rulling....
