It would appear to me that Jian Ghomeshi is as much the catalyst for the outing of an insidious, pervasive, abhorrent, misogynistic, and abusive behaviour, culture and attitude of silence and acceptance as he is a suspect in same alleged behaviour. I think it can be said that when even our Ivy League schools (where young minds go to develop and form their opinions on the world) are also complicit in protecting this culture, we have an epidemic of hate and abuse towards women of epic proportions. Its truly time to join the revolution ladies. And make no mistake, this is an attack on women. Women as objects of men, women who are valued less by our society then men. Women are disposable. Women are less because they have a vagina. How can Western University claim to be the moulders of future leaders, that their halls are filled with the best and the brightest who will lead the future? Clearly the future includes cover up after cover up of the oppression of women. It is my hope that our daughters and their daughters and their daughters after them will stand up against this accepted behaviour, continue the revolution until women are accepted as equal, side by side with men and power.
