Its 5:40 and I am ready to throw in the towel. My teething baby has been crying all day! Good thing hes cute but still I am worn thin and standing out in the heat waiting for 20 more minutes for Marlise to finish choir practice may be the end of me. Moments like this I remind myself how lucky I am to have a husband to help me with the kids. I have so much respect for single mothers. I dont know how you do it but I commend you for it. 9/11 left so many widows with children to care for on their own. Where once there were 2 parents there was only a mother to pick up the pieces and learn to carry the role of parenting alone. Today I honor these women in their daily role as a single mother. I honor them as they mourn the loss of their husbands and I honor their children as they mourn the loss of their father. I pray for peace and wholeness to replace the hurt and brokenness. And I check my attitude of frustration. I check it at the door and replace it with an attitude of gratitude.
