Its EXTREMELY difficult when faced with a decision; whether to put a pet down that has been with you for thirteen years. There are many questions that run through my mind. Should I put her down because shes suffering? If/when I take her to be put down, should I be there until she drifts off to sleep? Should I wait and let her pass away on her own? I hate that Im in this position! I cant STAND this; being the one to ultimately make this call. Im not one that handles death very well nor do I want her to suffer. Why me?! ... Why not. Has she not been there for me? When I was upset about anything, Penny would know and shed nestle up under me to console me. Shes ALWAYS known when I needed her; when I was depressed and feeling bad. Why not me? We ask the question WHY ME? when we should be asking WHY NOT? Pets are family. Our pets are there when we need THEM so the answer is more simple than we initially think... Theyre family and we should be there for them as well.
