Its Mondays NO ONE LIKE YOU, Fan of the Week. This week I am happy to feature Kathy Seruga. So here it is as told by Kathy herself. Im Kathy Seruga and Im from Rochester, NY, USA. Im a Quality Assurance Auditor for a major contact lens manufacturer and have been working there for 17 yrs. I work the overnight shift, which isnt for every one, but I enjoy it because while most people are at work during the day, Im out and about and enjoying life. I play my iPod at work with 133 Scorpions songs in my playlists- always something different- either whole albums or shuffle to keep it interesting. I have a hard time standing still once the music starts, and most people know Im jamming to the Scorps!! Oh well-- gotta keep it interesting. I have 2 children, a son 19 and a daughter 17. I have been a Scorpions Fan since 1982. My earliest memory is when the No One Like You video was on Mtv. I thought wow! This sounds great! I was hooked! Having conservative parents, I couldnt play my records until they went out for the evening - then I cranked the music!!! I have always been a rocker at heart- The Scorpions music gets me pumped up, pulls me out of a slump, makes me happier and applies to so many situations in life currently or in past memories but mostly their music just gives me that extra burst of energy and keeps me Rockin. Im really into fitness- both in a group environment and home workouts and have come up with a warmup, workout and cool down playlist, but yet to hear it at my aerobics studio-- not everyone feels my zest for heavy metal and thats ok- the music moves me in my own way. Its always been like that; at a club, dance or wedding , Id rather rock out and dance my feet off to the Scorpions but that tends to clear the floor and Im left alone or I sit and bounce around in my seat.. Haha Its very hard to pick just a few favorites, but I would have to say these are among the top: The Zoo, Cause I Love You, 321, Every Minute Every Day, and Blood Too Hot. Then the usual mainstream, more popular songs that put the Scorpions on the map, plus others. Its also hard to pick a favorite Scorp, but Id have to say I like Klaus the best with Rudy and Matthias both a close 2nd. That tenor voice Klaus has is an untouchable signature - and to go through surgery and not speak for all those months to heal, wow! Plus, for Rudy to wait until Klaus was healed to resume singing and recording with the Scorpions shows that friendships are strong and its more than just a job being in a rock band. Klaus always is so appreciative of the fans loyalty and takes time to receive gifts, sign autographs, and is so down to earth! In recent years, Rudy speaks a lot on peace in the world and accomplishing personal goals-- very inspiring to listen to him!! Matthias too with his guitar shop and showing the world his talents in the store, and jamming with new artists- not something you see every day. I guess thats what hits home the most with these 3, for me- theyre not arrogant and untouchable. I saw them in 2012, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and the concert was fantastic!! These are some of the pics I took at that show. I own the Blue-Ray version of this tour as well as the 1991 Crazy World Tour DVD. The last 2 pics are me playing my boyfriends Flying V. We crank up the Marshall Amps to the point where there are cracks in the ceiling and pictures on the wall are crocked!! No kidding!! I have not met any of the Scorpions so far, but you never know what the future may bring. Ill be at their 2015 concert! Keep Rockin- and Dont Stop At the Top!!!! *EXCLUSIVE POSTING BY MATTHIAS JABS/MJ GUITARS/SCORPIONS FAN PAGE BY CD~*
