Its Rick Allens birthday, everyone. He is the drummer of Def Leppard. Here is a story about him some of you might not be knowing : In 1984, Allen was involved in a street-racing accident. In his rage to pass a driver, he did not see a turn up ahead and lost control of his car and he was thrown from the car. His left arm was severed and the doctors had no choice but to remove it again after a failed reattachment operation. He was depressed but some friends helped him and the electronic drum manufacturer Simmons created a kit according to his specifications so that he could play with one arm only. Allen made his post-accident debut in 1986 with a well-received set at the Monsters of Rock festival at Castle Donington. So damn inspiring. :-) -Aditya
