Its a shame to see what the health and wellness industry is now - TopicsExpress

Its a shame to see what the health and wellness industry is now producing . To become a PT over the course of a weekend seems to have become popular. The education standards are In dire straights and the regulation needs more than an electric shock. I work on not letting it bother me these days and to focus on clients that truly get it and see through smoke and mirrors. I would LOVE to see this industry change for the better. I try to surround myself with those better than me so I can learn and grow every month, year, decade. A quote below on a Facebook forum Im in sums it all up nicely: To me a great instructor is one that can convince and coach people to tap into their best power - but not everyone can command a room and get students to actually work hard. doing a class that doesnt actually require people to work hard (like pedaling above 110 for extended periods of time with minimal resistance, or pedaling up a hill at 30rpms, or doing crunches...) is easy, its just do this, now do that... Or classes that provide a false effect of intensity to make riders think they worked hard (like pumping up the heat in the room, doing tricks to increase HR but not actually increase power output etc.).. Again easy to teach. Find an instructor that can truly get their riders to RIDE the bike with power, now that is what I call talent.
