Its always tough to see a season end, especially one as exciting and fulfilling as this. Ladies, you have turned a lot of heads this season, and have really given this program a rebirth. Im so proud of your unwavering belief not only in your goals, but your abilities to accomplish them. It wasnt just the end results that you should be proud of, but also the way you dealt with any obstacles you encountered. It truly does say a lot about you as individuals, and Im proud to have been able to help guide you in the right direction. Hopefully this is just a stepping stone to even bigger things! The mens team has had a tremendous run, and they are amongst the most talented, if not the MOST talented, Ive ever coached. This group of guys had it together, and knew what they had to do to get the job done this season. A testament to working together as a team, and truly embodying what it means to do it The Haven Way. They remained positive, poised, hungry, and determined, while keeping it classy and composed at all times. A lot of people counted these guys out this year early on...everyone but themselves. Their belief in their abilities, and how they went about going after them, was a coaches dream. Thanks to you all for a great season and for making my job seem easy! To the nationals crew, I thank you for yet another unforgettable trip...Your dance moves, singing ability, and Koreys ability to always be hungry will always be etched in my mind, as will the way you fought on the water-logged, mud pit of a course today. To all our fans, you truly are the extra edge our teams have needed all season. I cannot put into words what your support (over 25 here in Louisville, not to mention the mobs at the PSAC and Regional Championships) has meant to both the mens and womens teams this season. We truly are one big family, and you are such a vital component of our ever-growing tradition! I also want to thank both my mens and womens teams for their patience, time commitment, and hard work this season. I could always count on you bringing a smile to my face, and lightening my mood. But I also could always count on you to inspire me every day, and remind me why I chose this profession. And finally, a special heartfelt congrats to Dylan Mountain on his All-American performance today. The last couple of years have presented a whole line of obstacles and direction changes in both your running and personal life. You are living proof that it is the attitude you take toward lifes challenges that determines your success or failure in life. Today you have a medal around your neck to reward that, but it honors so much more than just the running success you had out there today. Im confident there is a lot more work to do in the next year and a half, and you havent been on your last podium! Again, thanks to everyone that is the LHU XC Family. Proud that the tradition lives on, and looking forward to the next season already! PRIDE-TRADITION-EXCELLENCE....LHUXC2014
