Its amazing how things change over the years. One thing that I appreciate from having to share a room with my older brother when growing up was the music he would play on the stereo at night which, ultimately, shaped my interest in music (Guns N Roses, Megadeth, Metallica, Pearl Jam, Pantera, etc.). As I got older, my interest shifted to strictly all metal (Death, Sepultura, Nile, In Flames, etc.). If it wasnt metal, it didnt exist. When I got a little older, classical music, blues, and jazz (in general) caught my interest. Later, people like Dream Theater, Frank Zappa, other out there music. One thing that I WOULD NOT listen to was anything pop. However, I now have to admit that I find enjoyment in some of it (U2, Elton John, etc. However, I still find the majority of pop music from the last 10 years to be worthless). Guess I am saying all of this to say is its amazing how much things can change in the course of 20+ years. Maybe my tastes have matured. Maybe Ive gone soft. Maybe you just learn how to hear things differently as you get older.
