Its been a busy winter out at the McLean Mill. The logging show was moved to make way for a new dam project. The logging crew began the preparations: the main line and haulback were spooled onto the winch drums on the donkey; the nose of the heelboom was lowered, after releasing the nose guy and the ‘chunk line’. Next, the donkey was skidded towards the log pond, in front of the Machine Shop. A decision should be coming down soon whether or not the donkey boiler will be re-tubed this winter or next. (Note that the “TD-14” cat given to the I.H.S. 3-4 years ago was used to skid the donkey.) Photos courtesy Dave Hooper.
