Its been a difficult few years, and this time, leading up to Yom Kippur, is particularly hard as my father-in-law passed away around this time in 2011, my dad exactly a year and a day later, and my mum just 15 months after that. On top of that, Ive caused plenty of stress by my own stupid mistakes, coped with others (ab)use of my generosity, battled depression, yet am thankful to Hashem for where life has brought me. Remember not to allow those who have hurt you and taken advantage of your past, to hijack your future. Only expend your emotional energy on those whom you love, and those who love you...for you.
