Its been a great season thus far for Planet Athlete. We have only - TopicsExpress

Its been a great season thus far for Planet Athlete. We have only played half of a season, but we have actually found success for all of our student athletes in the Class of 2015. Everyone of our student athletes come to us with the need for exposure, academic enhancement, and skill development. We work hard to get our students on track academically, and we present them with the opportunity to play the best teams and against the best basketball players in the USA. We have played in over 10 states thus far, and we still have about 20 games left this season. From the first day of practice I have been manning the phones speaking with an unprecedented number of college coaches on behalf of my kids. When I hit an event or game there is no other coach I know that works the collegiate crowd, stands, sitting area like me. My kids can attest to how hard I work to get them in front of coaches, and how hard I work to get coaches in the gym. The only reason we play these games is so I have offers in place by January 1st. Because now, January 1st is where we focus, focus, focus on skill development, strength and conditioning, and academic enhancement as graduation is very close. A lot of coaches in Prep and Post Grad Basketball forget the most important thing, and that is Our Success is only measured by the number of kids that we get into college on scholarship. The mere winning or losing of games is not IMPORTANT! The number of games played is not IMPORTANT! Coaches please dont forget why kids go to Post Grad Programs, and Check your own Egos at the door! The mere fact of playing 100 games makes no sense, when your players have skill deficiencies. I wont even waste time telling you why its bad for the kids bodies, because if your playing so many games, you probably dont care or have your own philosophy, which wont make sense to any one but your self, and the kids, as they think and believe that they are invincible. But when you see one of your kids blow out their knee or tear their ACL, maybe your will think differently. I tell my kids every season, the mere fact that you put on one of our jerseys will not get you a scholarship. IF you are the same player that was passed over in high school by colleges, you will be passed over in Post Grad. If you cant go left, no coach will offer you a scholarship, If you cant go right no coach will offer you a scholarship. If you are lazy and refuse to play defense - no coach will offer you a scholarship. You can play as many games as you want, but games dont make you better, skill development is the only thing that is going to make you better. 100 games does not get you a scholarship, I have a coach offer a kid a scholarship after seeing one cross over dribble. Yes, 10 seconds of game play. We get offers for our kids at practice, we dont need games, coaches are at our practices. So, if you are doing the right thing, your practices are the most important thing you can offer your kids, and I dont mean running plays, I mean skill development work outs. We have several students leaving us this month for immediate enrollment in college. We have four students leaving us for college and we are going to miss them. I was going to do my list here, but the post became way too long. So will post separately.
