Its been a rough and somewhat surreal week here at the Snider homestead. Monday was uneventful but Tuesday....Ugh Tuesday was pretty rough. First, my grandpa (moms dad) was acting strangely, asking about getting a permit to park at the history museum and didnt know who we were and in many ways he acted as if he was in a dream. My mom called the doctors office and got him in to seen an RN later that afternoon and soon after left for work. Later, when my dad was taking my grandpa to the appointment he got a call from my mom; shed fallen at work and possibly broken her arm and needed my dad to drive her to the ER. It turns out that shed dislocated her shoulder so my dad went in with her while I took my grandpa to get the CT scan that the doctor ordered, which fortunately was in the same building. After that I took him home, which is about a 15 minute drive from home. My grandpa and I were probably home no longer than 30 minutes when my dad called and told me that I needed to take my grandpa back into town. The CT scan came back and had revealed that he had a stroke and required more tests and to be admitted to the larger hospital in Boise. My moms shoulder is feeling better but she has to be careful as to not dislocate it again and my grandpa remained in the hospital until yesterday. His memory and mind are significantly addled and he will require 24 hour supervision. This morning I had to help him get dressed because he just didnt know how. This week probably ranks at my 3rd or 4th worst week this year.
