Its been a turbo spiffy year! Thats inadequate as a reflection but you might be tired of reading those by now and you probably would like me to write something else. :) Let me simply say thanks yall. You are the best readers of 2013. Ill have a blog post up on Jan 2 lookin at the year ahead. But today, as my gift to you, let me tell you about Miriam Black. When she makes any kind of physical contact—shakes your hand, slaps your face, whatever—she knows exactly when and how you will die. It makes for some interesting relationships. Shes one of my favorite characters, and the third Miriam Black novel, CORMORANT, is out today. I pre-ordered it and its waiting for me at The Poisoned Pen. Ill be there when it opens to snag it. If youre looking for some badass dark urban fantasy then you owe it to yourself to try this series. Its a gut-punching, nipple-twisting ride written by Chuck Wendig, one of my favorite wordslingers and human beings. First ones called BLACKBIRDS. Hope youre reading something swell!
