Its been a very long wait for this day and it has finally arrived; in a world with so many different beliefs and icons, it is hard to believe that one single guy can attract the worlds attention in such way. But today, history is about to change in his favor , he who proudly wears the almighty number 10 representing much more than the Argentinean national team. I was wrong to think that the worlds main event was fixed in Brazils favor; as futbols stakeholders could not care less about the hundreds of millions that were invested here, their objective was never to ease the sociopolitical caos in this country by handling the verde-amarella its 6th world cup tittle. The agenda points that a new legend is to be born today, as their main icon for decades Pele, has now grown old and has probably given all he had to give, billions in revenue have been generated around his figure, however it is now time for a change. This however was attempted before; Maradona was to take this role, unfortunately his controversial personality and the huge issues with addictions and cheating forced the stakeholders to look for a new world icon. For centuries, people have had the need to deposit their faith in a divine figure similar to us, flesh and bones, to be related at least for a single moment to a character that has it all, that guides and gives hope to those who need it the most. This is known by the futbol stakeholders and its used religiously to control the masses and create revenue; this is why no one should be surprised that today, against all odds, against the mighty powerful German squad, Andres Leonel Messi, aka the Messiah will achieve the one and only goal hes missing and become the new figure to be worshipped, a legend who represents millions, their dreams and hopes will become reality when he is handed the world cup and a new page will be written in the history of the worlds most powerful religion. P.S. This might not happen and Germany might end up trashing Argentina, however its always nice to believe that there is something higher out there...
