Its been a very tough few days... Planning your childs funeral is a heart breaking journey. Just walking around our house and glancing at the family pictures hanging on the wall hurts my heart. Man I miss that little girl already. For the last six years this month, Avrey has been our families focal point, all our energies have been trying to get her healthy. Cancer is a selfish SOB and it didnt care... And despite the effort and prayers of thousands we have lost our little spit fire. Its a crushing blow not only to me but to Maddy, Christal, and all the rest of our immediate family. It has also been a huge blow to this amazing community who has fought along side us the entire time. Never leaving us for a second.... And this is where I/we can turn our lemons into lemonade. Despite the gloom and the darkness of such a sad time I look at what I have seen. I have seen a community come together for a single cause like I personally have never seen before. Central Oregon, Coquille many many people from this state, from this country and from all around this world have banded together to help a lite girl fight it to the end. I have had thousands and thousands of personal messages from Germany, Japan, Australia, our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. Norway, Ireland, France, Denmark, South Africa .. The list goes on and on... And I have read every single one..... And it brings a since of pride that my little girl brought all these people together to shine a very bright light on childhood cancer. She got thousands to register for the bone marrow registry, she was a pioneer in the T cell therapy, gaining valuable information about it so other kids can win their battle! She has made thousands look at their own lives, and made them hug their children a little tighter, love them a little more. Brought together a community with a demonstration on how to, despite all the negative, be positive and HAVE FUN... NO MATTER WHAT! She is the true example of what fighter is. A never quit mentality with big smile to go with it. And now I ask you all to join me in our final celebration for an amazing little girl on November 9th at 3:30 pm at the Redmond High school. It is open to the public and we have great things planned. Avrey wanted to make sure we didnt forget about her..... And I promised I would never let that happen. We will have an opportunity to send our last messages to heaven and will do it in grand style. Please share this... Pass it along to everyone.... Lets make this a true celebration of life! Thank you!
