Yesterday I the pleasure of showing parts of The Gardens to Chris Bennett, whose book on edible plants of the southeast is being published by Timber Press. He is also the buyer for the cheese department at Whole Foods and has rekindled my love for good cheese. After being able to go botanizing twice this week to visit populations of rare plants, I was able to finish the week by hosting a group of about ten Americorps volunteers and interns from Jones Valley Teaching Farm to teach them about propagation. It was one of the most impressive group of young people Ive ever interacted with. Life is good!
