Its early Spring on Sand Hill. The ground is wet and the mornings - TopicsExpress

Its early Spring on Sand Hill. The ground is wet and the mornings are cold. We were in our last week of Urban Operations training. We loaded up CCMK Simulated 5.56mm rounds into our mags in preparation for a patrol through Wilson Village. About halfway through my fire team comes to a corner. Our DS gave is the go ahead, so me being 1 man and my buddy 2, we did a high low on a corner. When we did we came face to face with 3rd platoon. Me and my buddy knew it was not an enemy, but what 3rd platoon saw was two masked men pointing M4 Carbines at their balls. And so 3rd platoon chose to fire on us... Immediate reaction, fire back. Unfortunately though, my friend shot 3rd platoons Drill Sergeant in the midst of simulated battle. DS proceeded to rip my battle buddys name tag off, and of course get in his face a bit. The next day though, it really bit him in the ass. The DS my buddy had shot was putting on a heavy duty masked blower suit. In case you dont know what this is, its basically the DS becoming the Juggernaut. The point of it was that when we cleared a building the drill sergeant would act as a combatant and we had to subdue him with either hand to hand or shoot him with blank rounds while he threw punches and kicks. Back with same fire-team as the previous day we took our turn clearing the building. The events that followed I will never forget. We had just cleared the second room in the building and my buddy was very wary knowing that the DS was seeking revenge on him whilst hiding in one of the rooms. But the drill sergeant hid no more! A door to our 12 opened and in walked 510 suit of power. We all started yelling to get on the ground, when he didnt comply we started firing blank rounds. He then yelled, BLANKS DONT KILL ME PRIVATES!!! And started running towards my friend, the one who shot him the day before. While running with a boxing glove on one hand he used his other to point at my battle buddy. And without missing a beat the drill sergeant crow hopped and superman punched my battle buddy square in the face! Although he had a boxing glove on, my battle buddy was out cold... Laying on the ground for about 20 seconds. Single greatest thing I had seen in my Infantry training! Ft. Benning, GA Ft Benning
