Its foggy in areas around Arkansas this morning and that will burn off shortly after sunrise. At 6:00 am visibility around the LR area is as low as 1/8 of a mile. Once the fog burns off skies will be partly to mostly sunny and temps will warm into the mid to upper 80s with some locations getting close to 90. Cant rule out a shower or thunderstorms across northern AR later but not looking like a big deal as a upper disturbance moves across Missouri. Rain chances start increasing later tonight in the north and west then spreading across the remainder of the state on Friday. The rain will be on and off Friday and Saturday with some heavy rain possible. It will turn cooler due to showers and clouds. It looks much cooler across NW AR on Saturday behind a frontal system. Highs will go from the 80s to day to the 50s on Saturday. Some high school football and college football games will be affected by showers and thunderstorms both Friday night and Saturday. Rainfall amounts of 1-3 look possible with locally higher amounts of over 4 - 5 in some locations. The rain looks to taper off a little Saturday night into Sunday but a potent cold front will move through late Sunday night or Monday. The timing of this front is important as heavy rain and some severe weather will most likely accompany it. If the front moves through quickly late Sunday night or early Monday morning the most likely event will be a squall line with a damaging wind threat. If the front is slower and we heat up a little on Monday, we could be looking at a more extensive severe weather threat including a tornado threat. This is still days out and plenty of time to watch, but wanted you to be aware. Once the cold front moves through on Monday, temps will cool back to slightly below normal values, so 60s and 70s before warming back up a little next week. The overall long range outlook for the rest of October is looking warmer than average which is not what those wanting some cool fall temps want to see. Enjoy your day.
