Its like the grey-wolves at Yellowstone; you dont know the domino - TopicsExpress

Its like the grey-wolves at Yellowstone; you dont know the domino effect until the event has already taken place. The grey wolf changed the animal population, but then the animal population changed the ecosystem and the ecosystem, in turn, changed the health of the population of animals. I often think that people who know better should do better, but why dont they? Or people that were raised in church, who walk away, why? Yet the converse deserves consideration as well. Those who have walked away, why do they not choose to come back ... or what causes them to come back and walk away again? I honestly think it boils down to ecosystem ... in a manner of speaking. We do not know the life they lead, what temptations they face daily, what ill-fated friendships they have unwittingly acquired that they feel they cant walk away from and so on. We cant just save them, push them back out into that ecosystem, and expect them to thrive. We must also teach them how to build a new ecosystem that enables them to thrive and influence other to thrive. We must not expect them to stand, until weve taught them how to stand -- against the temptations of the enemy. Hope is as much action as it is an emotion-driven choice. We need to teach them HOW to hope. Salvation is not a destination, its a journey that must be lived out daily. Its not enough to compel them to come in, unless we show them how to live a life that is compelling to others as well -- one specie that changes can change a whole ecosystem -- or the ecosystem can change a specie. We need to learn to change both. This is the Art of Holding Fast, and teaching others to Hold Fast too.
