A big read today! This is an example of our compact 7.5 tonne Helios horsebox and a brief description of how we have designed the horse area around complete ease of use. Rather than the same old lists of specification, today I thought I would list just a few of its unique features in the horse area. This video, filmed on its road test, also shows the model in greater detail than just pictures - https://youtube/watch?v=M_JOqUnLjCo We started the design with the horse area and we included every detail of transporting horses in our design. The ramp is probably the single most important part of the build and is designed to close with a slight push. It has the very latest Coat-X grippy surface. It is stainless steel and to make loading as simple as possible benefits from being the full width of the horsebox. In fact most of the build from the ramp to the partitions are full stainless and designed to outlast any other material. It is super low at just 32” high and has the slightest incline for ease of loading. The horse area is also designed to be as low as possible adding further to stability. It is as large and airy as possible and is 8’ wide and a massive 8’3” high, we tailor the horse area length to the customers bespoke size and this can be two horse/three pony or three horses. Two new ground breaking areas were colour and sound and with the use of the latest material and glue technologies, plus our spray on Coat-X Polyurea - coat-x.co.uk we have reduced sound and vibration by up to an incredible 40%. This is a major benefit to all our models and greatly reduces stress on customer’s horses whilst in transit. For colour choices we used the latest published equine research papers on the colours horses like. Not surprisingly they showed that horses associate black with holes and they much preferred stepping on greys and greens. For this reason we chose a mid grey Coat-X finish for our horse area and ramp. So our horse area has just two main colours, grey at the bottom and white at the top and the whole area is designed to be steam cleaned. To aid cleaning and washing out we have also designed in a trough at the bulk head wall, this collects water and urine and channels it down drain tubes.
