Its now 1:30am in the SF Bay Area and my eyes are saying go moe but my naau & head are saying whats going on? Dont want to miss a thing... Anyway the whole Lava Ocean Adventures Lava March had me going all day even into this evening, so I would like to say 2 things before I take a nap... 1. I hope that many of you will not stand AGAINST the Lava March but rather, I hope you will STAND UP in support of our residents right to have safe, unobstructed access to our hale & property. Huli ka mana into a positive message. 2. I believe Ikaika Marzo made a comment that this is not Mauna Kea...although this particular situation is not, we are upset & feel disrespected about this Lava March because our hale and childhood home for generations is sacred to us. So much so that we are ready to dispense some cracks! Our Mauna A Wakea is just as sacred and deserving of our support. Homes can be re-built, but the ʻāina as we know it will be changed forever; just like our Mauna will be if the TMT gets built. So instead of putting our energy into ensuring public access to view the lava, how about we put our energy into ensuring public access for ohana whose piko are on Mauna A Wakea and our future generations? Are their piko and rights to have their sacred grounds undisturbed any less important than ours to be left alone during this time? Btw...not looking for comments, just settling my naau. Mahalo ke Akua mahalo e nā ʻaumakua...pō mālie kākou. Ola!
