Its official. Melissa and Carol leave Duke tomorrow (Friday) at 9:00 am for the medical transport flight, and I will leave earlier to drive to Atlanta and meet them at the Shepherd Center. Melissa had a good day today and is a little apprehensive about what lies ahead there, but we are all excited to finally be proactive and moving towards the future. The Physical and Occupational Therapists put her in a type of wheelchair this morning, and I am attaching a video showing her keeping it moving along the hallway! The background chatter you hear is the excitement of the medical personnel she encountered along the way. A special thanks to Bobbie and Linwood who are taking care of both Melissas and Kyles dogs so he can focus on her and can fill in for me with our hvac work.
