Its the day the candidates have been waiting for, sailing day! The eight sailors are split into pairs and split between four Artemisia Figaro - just back from this years Solitaire armed with a Figaro for idiots instruction manual and an experienced shaparone to ask any question they want (John Thorn, Phil Johnston, Sam Matson and Nick Maloney). After their four hour sea survival sesh, the guys went straight into passage planning ahead of todays practice race from Poole to a finish line in Lymington. While set a number of tasks including hourly stacking and cognitive puzzles to earn points/miles in the Fantasy Solitaire, those who won the golden blanket award last night will be in better shape for todays performance test. The candidates should use the first leg to Lymington to get to know their boat and make use of their Figaro guardian. Once in the Solent they will race two double handed and one solo short course races and will be assessed by the selectors. Current conditions for the 25 mile race are bright sunshine and light south westerly breeze - perfect. Shame Its too early to pop the Pol. Engines are on, almost time to dock put.
