Its time for a rant. I may piss some people off here, but those individuals, as youll see by the end of this, are the source of the problem anyway. I flat out dont understand our society anymore. If youre the consumate gentleman, have absolute class and have your shit together, youre looked upon as too grown up to be dateable. Yet if you go out boozing 24/7, cant articulate simple sentences, and wear your pants ten feet below your ass, you are a damn-near perfect man. If you keep up with world events, exercise your right to vote, and watch educational programming (like the OLD History Channel), youre delusional. But if you lay on the couch watching 16 and Pregnant all day while saying screw world events, they dont affect me as you continue to collect your welfare check, youre living life the right way. If you work your ass off in order to pay for a nice car of your own, youre looked down upon as being a rich kid. While on the other hand, if your mommy and daddy bought you a $60,000 car and pay all your expenses for you (the exception being youre going to college for something insane and advanced), youre hailed as an incredible success... oh, and if your vehicle isnt lifted 6 ft off the ground and doesnt roll coal, youre not worth dating either, apparently. And somehow, if youre not at least 60 tall or a steroided-up douchebag (lest I forget, dressing like theyre so country), youre not the ideal man. Same goes for the ladies, as well, since it seems as if youre not 90 lbs soaking wet and you have... gasp... some flaws!... you dont feel adequate enough to go out and find someone you deserve instead of settling for second best. Why? Because society tells you thats the way it should be. Beginning to see the problem here? I could go on for days here, folks. But the point Im trying to get at is this... our society is becoming a cesspool of poor morality, lack of education and non-existent common sense. We have been so delusionalized by technology (and the trash that flows through it) that we have forgotten what it means to be human. We say our government needs to change, just to turn around and vote all the mindless pricks back into office. No one can remember how to carry on a conversation, and most Americans cant name the 50 states or the three branches of the Federal Government; yet I bet they can tell you everything youd ever want to know about the Kardashians (which, in my case, is absolutely nothing) via an elaborately-misspelled text message. You get the picture. Its time for us to re-evaluate who we are, open our eyes and forge a new America. We cant afford to fall further behind economically, politically, socially and, most importantly, morally. When will you stand up?
