Its with a whole plethora of mixed emotions and feelings that I arrive in Lautoka, the town I began the Fiji journey. I have been again surprised and humbled by the generosity and genuine friendship of Fijians in these last few days. One has invited me to stay as long as I need with her family in Nadi, another is planning his own walk around his homeland, inspired by my journey. And now I am where I began but I am a different man, I have new learnings about being human, new places I have journeyed both inside and out. When I started walking this path I knew it would have profound implications for my life. I had no idea how profound those effects would be, nor how promptly they would present. Soon I will attempt the deepest sharing I can manage about this journey in this land called Viti and Vanua. But for now, a coffee in the Chilli Cafe, my first coffee in more than a week and some pondering where to sleep tonight. Perhaps back to visit that South African family who first took me in on the shore of Vuda. Then likely back to visit Viseisei village. Then on to Nadi, for some rest and some writing and preparing for the culture shock of returning to Australia for some brief projects there. Thank you Fiji for all your love, hospitality and friendship. It is unmatched anywhere I have ever been. And thank you friends on this funny electronic friend thing. Sometimes your likes and comments were just the comfort I needed as the rain tumbled on my little tent, our as I crept to bed after a night of not understanding a word of the evenings conversation in Fijian. We did it!
