It’s 2015 and it’s time for a revival, a revival of the chosen ones, a revival of the disciples, and a revival of the masses. How long are we to stand idly by and watch our country fall into the hands of the unholy wretches of the unbelievers and say, God will change it? We are all called as believers to go out and preach the gospel to the people that are lost and searching for the truth. Too many times we are focused on the church, although there are those in the church that are in need, when we should be going out and spreading the good news amongst the sojourners. That’s a big word that keeps coming up in the Old and the New Testament to describe a person that is not in their own country or origin, even Abraham was described as a sojourner in his travels. In my mind it is also a person that is not saved, a sojourner looking for his own place in a foreign land because the way of the Lord is foreign to him. We must take the message to the streets, towns, cities, and lands in order to bring as many into the flock as we can. That is our job as Christians; take the message to the people that need it most. If we stand by wrapped up in our own lives and struggles we are wasting what God has given us, the power of his word to change the hearts and minds of the non-believers. Take up his cross and bear it for him so that your salvation is not in vain. In the time of Jesus and shortly after when there was actual evidence of his power there were still many that would not believe because they were misguided in their beliefs. The proof was right in front of them and yet they chose not to believe that he was God’s son and was sent to save their souls from damnation and death. How easy it should have been to believe in the power of our almighty God when you could see the lame walk, the blind see, and the dead rise again. Even when the Jews had him put to death, as it was foretold by the prophets, he rose after three days they still did not believe. All we have is our faith, his word, and the Holy Spirit to prove that God is real and that he gave his only son to be crucified on the cross for our sins so that we can have eternal life through his blood. We are in the midst of a fight for our lives and the end is surely to come as promised in God’s word so our jobs are so very important today more than ever. Take up your crosses and put on the full armor of god so that you can be prepared on a daily basis to share his word of repentance and salvation through whatever means God has given you the ability to use. To some he has given the knowledge, to some the understanding, and to some the gift of music to glorify his name. We as musicians need to band together and work together for one purpose. Instead of worrying about where our next gig will come from we should be planning our own shows in public places and take the word to the people. Quit worrying about what the people think about your music ministry and worry about getting the message of salvation to the ones that God has put in front of you.
