It’s Confession That Leads to Cleansing BIBLE READING: 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” *** I have read about behavioral psychologists and Freudian psychiatrists always talking about getting rid of peoples guilt complexes. They say that all mankind has these desires within themselves, and they’ve been held in by blocked memories. They say if a person represses them self, they will come up with a neurosis and a psychosis. [See definitions below] And so they say, “Express yourself. Live it up! Do your thing, and whatever feels good to you, whatever is meaningful to you, express yourself.” That along with a hand full of pills I suspect is all one needs to feel free, to feel good about one’s self. They claim just the opposite of repression is expression. Dear friends, please allow me to tell you something. There’s no doubt that there are many mentally sick people in our old world today, however, with many of these people who are running to the doctor it is not a case of repression, and it is not expression. All many of these people need today is confession. The Bible says in 1John 1:7, “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” And then in Romans 5:20-21 it says, “Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.” Dear ones, be very careful when a man/woman of medicine starts trying to tell you what’s going on inside your head. Check first with the one whom can look inside your head and tell you with absolute certainty what’s going on inside your heart and soul. God Bless. ____________________________________ Neurosis: 1.Also called psychoneurosis. a functional disorder in which feelings of anxiety, obsessional thoughts, compulsive acts, and physical complaints without objective evidence of disease, in various degrees and patterns, dominate the personality. 2.a relatively mild personality disorder typified by excessive anxiety or indecision and a degree of social or interpersonal maladjustment.
