It’s becoming clear that the horrific terrorist attack at a shopping mall in Kenya is going to touch the entire world…The Westgate Mall in Nairobi is an upscale shopping destination for Kenyans and visitors alike. We now know that several Americans are among the wounded. The dead include a Chinese woman, two French citizens, a well-known poet from Ghana, two Canadians, and the wife of a U.S. diplomat. And we know the group responsible, al-Shabab, are radical Islamists tied to al-Qaeda. They’re based in Somalia, but there are unconfirmed reports that the attackers include recruits from as far away as Britain, Ohio and Minnesota. That prompted spokespeople for several Somali-American groups to speak out and say they want to make it clear that they love America, and they condemn al-Shabab as murderers and a global threat. They say many of them came to the US to escape their violence. Now, in just one attack, they’ve spread it worldwide. Don’t be surprised if they face a worldwide response. Speaking of that Kenyan mall attack, I’d like to salute a Huck’s Hero that I bet you haven’t even heard about. Great Britain’s SAS, or Special Air Service, trains in Kenya and helps track down British citizens involved with Islamic extremists in the region. An off-duty SAS soldier just happened to be having coffee in the mall when the terrorists struck, and he was carrying his handgun. He was photographed helping two women out of the mall. Then, braving intense gunfire, he went back inside a dozen times and helped bring at least a hundred people out safely. His name and face couldn’t be revealed for security reasons. So why don’t we just call him what the NRA would: “A good guy with a gun.”
