It’s time to talk ethics and productivity on the job. We all - TopicsExpress

It’s time to talk ethics and productivity on the job. We all want to be paid, so let’s do an honest day’s work. Let’s say you work 8:00a.m. - 4:00p.m. for the most part (maybe in a government ministry). You arrive 20 minutes late, perhaps due to circumstances beyond your control. Okay, fair enough. Here’s what I can’t fathom - you watching the clock and wanting to be the first worker to leave at 4 o’clock. Seriously, should you not leave at 4:20? Should you not make up for having arrived late on the job? Should you not avail yourself for 20 minutes to advance some other work? How serious are we about what we do? On a somewhat separate note - you shouldn’t accept a job and then complain about your salary. No one put a gun to your head to accept the job in the first place. It was your decision to do so.
