Ive always found censorship in animation to be fascinating, as what gets censored can say a lot about a culture and its values. For example, theres a bit in a japanese wrestling anime (assumedly for a younger audience) where one fighter takes his opponent, and turns him into ramen and eats him. In the original, he brutally rips his opponent right in two. Personally speaking, Ive always found this change strange, considering the amounts of broken teeth, eye blood vessel ruptures, and visible blood were shown in the same episode, while later episodes show visible impalement, and someone even loses an arm on screen. And Im not going to lie, the thought of cannibalism in a kids show is far, far more frightening than someone just getting ripped in two. Hell, Dragon Ball got away with it in the Freezer fight.
