Ive been doing this for a while now...and I always said, Motown > Philly Soul > Disco... Well, Gamble & Huff were the pioneers, the men who not only brought us some of the very best R&B ever known (better than Motown, imo), but they were doing Disco before Disco was popular!! Here is the perfect example... Philly Soul was the evolution of Motown...thumping bass, lots of high hats, great brass sections and a rhythm that just wouldnt be denied!!! It was Motown on steroids...and Disco was just an extrapolation of Philly Soul...period!!!! Da Goat has spoken!!!
