Ive been involved with dance music since I first heard FSOL - Papua New Guinea on the radio back in 1991. Artists come and go, but its with a giddy excitement that I first find them. Its a wonderful thing to me that 20+years later I still have that giddy excitement on hearing new music and new artists. In my personal DJing, I have been experimenting with a more downtempo warm up sound as a break away from the stale deep house I was being to play. You can check out Amber Longs Tech Support show in late October to hear what it sounds like. Anyway, after some weeks of crate digging these guys - Weval have really struck a chord with me. Supported already by King Hernan, and featured on his new CD Balance 26, they will be appearing live at a pop up store show next week at ADE for Kompakt. I dont know who is more excited, me or them!
